Meet Development Engineer Extraordinaire, Charles Rhinehart

Charles, what is your job title with MediMatrix? I have no idea… hahaha. But really I’m on the development and engineering team with MediMatrix.

Have you always worked in some sort of development and or developer role? I started my career in electronics working with the hardware side of things for Dolby Labs as a lead tech in San Francisco. I moved into programming while working on automated test fixtures and never looked back. I don’t want to say how long ago that was… 😉

How long have you been with MediMatrix? I’ve been with MediMatrix almost 12 years now!

And who have you worked with the longest? I guess I’d have to say Ken and Karrie.

Where did you work prior to your time with MediMatrix? A number of places over the years, first in California, then in Minnesota.

What is your favorite part about this job? In development, there’s always something new to learn and work on, which I appreciate.

What motivates you in your career? Learning new things, being useful.

What was your very first job? My first job was when I was 16. I was hired to fold t-shirts and packing boxes for Greenpeace’s first commercial venture in San Francisco.

What is one subject you’d like to learn more about? Everything!

What is your favorite vacation spot? I love the forest and mountains, especially in the fall.

Have you ever lived abroad? No… not yet.

What is one thing on your bucket list you’d like to do/accomplish? Taking a ride in a hot air balloon. I plan to do that this coming summer if I’m able.
